My Camera Gear

As someone still learning all the ins and outs - these are some of the gear pieces that I have been testing out. Having the most expensive gear is not at all necessary to get started. My honest tip is to start with whatever you have and learn to be consistent before you invest so much money.

Camera Body

CANON EOS R

I recently invested in this body to start learning more about mirrorless cameras. So far it’s been great for photography and I have been learning to use it for videos as well.

Lenses

EF 50mm f1.8 STM, EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6

I am currently using my EF lenses from my old camera kit. Ideally I am saving up to invest in RF lenses, but those are currently out of my budget. However, I really like these lenses and they work well with my current set up.

Lens Adapter

Canon EF lens to RF body adapter

In order to use the EF lenses you need to buy an adapter. I use one from Pro Master but have heard great things about URTH and this one is cheaper.

Drone

DJI mini 2 fly more combo

I am just getting into the world of drones, and it’s absolutely fascinating. One thing to keep in mind is that this only shoots horizontally.

Bag

Hillsound PackStack

In order to ensure that my gear stays protected in all kinds of packs and trips I use the short and tall sizes of the PackStacks. These are very versatile and I use them as packing cubes and a way to keep different kinds of items together (ex. cooking gear).

Microphone

Rode VideoMicro

I primarily used this for vlogging - which I will be getting back into soon :) *mine has a muffler

Extra Batteries

LP-E6N Batteries for Canon EOS R

Extra batteries are necessary for all adventures. I have been using these with my primary Canon one and it’s been woking well.

Lens Hood

EF Lens Hood

Lens hoods are great to block out sun flare and block stray lighting from the top. I like this hood because it’s reversible.

Phone Gimbal

Qimic Gimbal

To get into the world of video I have been primarily using my Iphone 13 Pro paired with this gimbal.

Camera Cleaning Kit

Camkix Camera Cleaning Kit

Prior to this kit I used to clean my lens with a microfibre cloth, this is definitely a life changer in the outdoors ensuring my gear is working like it’s supposed to.

I haven’t included my tripods, a lot of accessories, filters, sd cards, hard drives, adapters, editing equipment and so on. This isn’t everything and it is constantly changing since I am still learning/finding my favourite gear pieces. I will be updating this whenever I can.

Feel free to shoot me a DM or email if you have any questions and I will try my best to answer them :)

Happy creating!
